Research Interests
Currently I am working on a project funded by the National Science Foundation Material Use: Science,
Engineering and Society (MUSES) program under award No. 0628190. This is a collaborative study with participation from professors and graduate students in City and Regional Planning, Chemical and Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech, The University of Washington, and The University of West Virgina. The project, titled Material Flow Modeling for Sustainable Industrial Systems for Urban
Regions, focuses on the mining of post-consumer materials in urban regions
in order to improve the social, economic and environmental sustainability of
the region. The study is using for a case studies the
My particular research interests lie in:
- unit process and facility models
- material and energy flows
- associated environmental, economic and social impacts
- end-of-life options assessment under the guidelines of traditional Life Cycle Assessment
- carpet recycling strategies
Other Information
- graduated from Columbia University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2006
