Background
- I was born in Marietta, GA and moved to Kennesaw, GA around 1992. I attended Harrison High School, where I was involved in both marching band and the wind ensemble. In marching band I played snare drum, and in the wind ensemble I played various percussion instruments.
- I started at Georgia Tech as an undergrad in Fall 2000. During my undergraduate years I was involved with Tau Beta Pi and Pi Tau Sigma. As a co-op student, I worked at Carrier in Athens, GA and Facet Technologies in Marietta, GA.
- I began grad school at Georgia Tech in Fall 2005. I completed my MS degree in Summer 2007.
- Family: I am married to Bob Thompson, who is also a grad student at GT. We have a pet snake named Samson, and we live in Smyrna, GA.
Interests and Hobbies: When I'm not in the lab, I enjoy cooking and baking, reading, playing the Wii, playing the piano, and spending time with friends. I also enjoy many crafts that I don't get to do very often such as knitting, tatting, beading, and sewing.
