Greg Graf, Jane Chu, Sarah Engelbrecht, and David Rosen received the best paper award at the 2009 ASME CIE Conference.
In August 2009, ex-SRL student, Rich Malak, will start as an Assistant Professor in the Department Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University.
Chris Williams, a former SRL student and current assistant professor at Virginia Tech, along with SRL professors Farrokh Mistree and David Rosen received the Best Paper Award at the 2008 Design for Manufacturing and the Life-Cycle Conference.
Yong Chen, a former SRL member who worked with David Rosen and is now an assistant professor at USC, received the Best Paper Award at the 2008 Computers and Information in Engineering conference earlier this week.
SRL Ph.D. student Amit Jariwala and Post Doctoral Fellow Yong Yang win runner-up for the Social and Environmental Sustainability Award at the 2008 Business Plan Competition at Georgia Tech.
SRL members Tommy Johnson and Rich Malak helped the Mechanical Engineering Graduate Association (MEGA) volleyball team win the GT intramural league graduate division championship. They will represent the graduate league in the GT IM tournament this weekend (Sunday Dec 2nd).
SRL members Tommy Johnson, Jay Johnson, Rich Malak, John Reap and Caroline Guidry participated in the race, along with member of the SRL extended family, Donna Yocum.
