commercialization/SRL in industry

Posted by rmalak at 01/11/2006 01:56 PM
I would be interested in a discussion about SRL research as it relates to industry. I am curious to know which SRL ideas have found their way into practice and in what capacity (e.g., were they part of a software tool, an alteration to design process, etc.). I'd also be interested to find out about any instances in which SRL ideas have been considered by people in industry but not used (specifically, I'd like to hear the "why nots").

I also think it would be interesting for those who have participated in the TI:GER program or that are otherwise knowledgable on the topic to talk about research commercialization, particularly as it relates to what we do in the SRL. This is something many of us do not have much exposure to, so it would be educational.

Research/productivity/organization habits

Reposted from last Fall (below). Could be combined into a "what makes a good lab space" discussion.

Are there certain research/productivity/organization habits (besides hard work, of course) that faculty or students rely on that they would like to share? (I will leave it at that, as there are other topics I'd rather see than this one, but I thought I'd throw it out there.)
