Former SRL member Yong Chen receives best paper award at ASME IDETC/CIE 2008 conference

Yong Chen, a former SRL member who worked with David Rosen and is now an assistant professor at USC, received the Best Paper Award at the 2008 Computers and Information in Engineering conference earlier this week.

All: It is a pleasure to share with you the news that Yong Chen received the best paper award at the ASME Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (part of IDETC/CIE) earlier this week in New York. The paper, co-authored with Charlie Wang from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, is titled: "Layer Depth-Normal Images for Complex Geometries - Part One: Accurate Modeling and Adaptive Sampling"

Yong was a member of the SRL from 1998 to 2001 (working with David Rosen). After working at 3D Systems until 2006, he became an assistant professor in the Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Southern California.
